Complaint Against Palmetto Complaint Against Palmetto Ford – Service Delays & Lack of Transparency I am filing this complaint regarding Palmetto Ford for excessive delays, misrepresentation of completion dates, lack of communication, and failure to provide cost transparency. Dec 3 – I contacted Palmetto Ford about a serious steering issue. The front end would not turn left or right. I was told to tow the truck to the dealership. Dec 10 – The truck arrived. Dec 11 – I was told: “With the vehicle coming in with no appointment, we are doing what we can to get it looked at around existing appointments.” “I have no way of giving a timeline… the tech is working to find a gap.” Despite this, my wife was later told the truck would be ready Saturday. If I could give Palmetto Ford Service 0 stars, I sure would. The service department here is absolutely terrible. My car sat in their lot for weeks with no updates. Totally understandable to be busy, but your customers should always be treated well. No one reached out to me unless I called and demanded to speak to the manager. They quoted me over $8k for service on my vehicle after having it for 2.5 weeks – I took it elsewhere and paid 1/2, and my vehicle was done in four days. When I went to pick up the keys, the cashier was clearly having a bad day. I would not recommend taking your Ford here for any work. There are way better shops around town.
Three days for a software update, a rattle and an airbag issue turned into 10 days and one out of three items fixed. Nobody returns phone calls or owns issues. Must be sweet place to work because you don't need to do your job and you still get paid. Go anywhere else and save yourself the hassle.
My car was towed to Palmetto Ford 8 days ago. I contacted Palmetto Ford service department immediately with the contact information for the warranty holder, and asked the service rep to contact them to get authorization for repairs. They still have not done so, nor replied to any of my 10 phone messages left for the service rep, who never seems to be available.
I recently brought in my new Lincoln Nautilus Reserve for some minor adjustments and software updates, and the experience was exceptional. Bob, the manager, and Sharon were professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive. The concierge pickup and delivery service by Harold was especially appreciated, as the updates and parts required multiple trips—but they were consistently prompt and reliable, always making sure the vehicle was picked up and returned exactly when and where needed. Bob also worked closely with the Lincoln manager Nick to make sure I had a brand-new Nautilus to drive during the process. Truly above-and-beyond service—I couldn’t be more pleased!
