Soapy Joe's Car Wash

The employees are consistently friendly, always smiling, and do an excellent job keeping the stalls clean and fully stocked with towels. I have been very pleased with every interaction I’ve had at each location. One concern I’ve noticed at a particular location is that some non-members are pulling in to use the vacuums and towel area and then leaving without purchasing a wash. It appears to happen more frequently at this specific site. I simply wanted to share this as a friendly FYI, as it’s unfortunate when a few individuals take advantage and impact the experience for paying members. 🙂

I had a great experience here. The location recently opened, so everything feels brand new, clean, and really well kept. My car came out looking great after the wash. On top of that, I somehow managed to lock myself out of my car with nothing on me — including my phone 🤦‍♀️. The manager, Ryan, went above and beyond to help me. He kindly let me use his personal cell phone to call GEICO roadside assistance so I could request help. The automated GEICO system was a bit of a process because it required sending a separate text to order the service, but Ryan was incredibly patient and friendly the whole time while I worked through it. He even took the call from the towing company when the service provider arrived to help unlock my car. From start to finish the whole situation was handled smoot

I’ve been a loyal Soapy Joe’s subscription member ($34.99/month) and generally enjoyed the service, but my recent experience at the Paseo del Norte location was extremely disappointing. On 09/27/2025, my 2022 BMW X7’s rear windshield wiper was torn off during the wash. Staff immediately confirmed the damage, retrieved the broken wiper from the tunnel, and filed an incident report. I had it replaced at the dealership the same day for $280. Despite this, Soapy Joe’s denied responsibility, saying the wiper was already “loose from wear and tear.” That explanation simply doesn’t make sense for a vehicle that was purchased in July as a “certified pre-owned” which undergoes a very rigorous inspection before sold. This is a fairly new location and my first time stopping in on my way to work. Everyone was friendly even at 730am. The wash was the same as the SJ near my house so no complaints withheld the wash quality. My only comments would be to better mark the way to the entrance of the actual car wash. I came in off Palomar Airport Road and if you go straight in, you wind up at the exit. The actual entrance is a bit tight if you drive a long pickup or long SUV. This is pretty typical for the car washes but just a heads up.

I had a great experience signing up. Everything was explained thoroughly. Jen was awesome. She explained to me the whole process of how to use all the equipment and even gave me a QR card in case I needed to update any of my billing information. Really great experience.
