Alamo Rent A Car

This was a wonderful rental car experience! Picking up and returning was a breeze. Our agents were fun, helpful and professional. We rented a Chevy Traverse AWD and were grateful for the tires with great tread. The car was clean and ran really well. Having an AWD on icy, snowy roads in Fairbanks made driving more relaxing for sure!!

Absolutely the smoothest car renta experience I have ever had. It was for a last minute local rental. When my car was not wanting to start in -26° F below zero weather. I was able to rent that same day, within an hour. I got to work. I am so impressed. Even had a extension cord and a snow brush in the vehicle. I won't go anywhere else. Thanks Alamo!

Fairbanks AK airport, Car was warmed up a little before picking up, minimizing time waiting in -30F temperature. Car’s fuel tank was listed as full when picking up but it was at 3/4 of a tank. Spoke to Alamo representative at drop-off after filling it to full prior and received a small discount on rental which was a nice gesture. No issues with AWD car, handled well on icy roads and in -37F and pick-up and drop-off parking for Alamo was close to the terminal.

We fly out of Alaska, pick up a car somewhere, visit family in the lower 48 and turn it in at a different location. Alamo ALWAYS has the lowest rates when we do this. Every location we go to is always courteous, knowledgeable, staff is helpful and the cars are always clean and newer. Our last trip, picked up an SUV at O'Hare and returning to St. Louis, is no exception. Due to an issue on the airfield we didn't get to the rental car agency until about 1:45 AM, had to go to National, about 50 feet away to get the car and was given an SUV with less than 2000 miles on it. Seamless turn in at the St. Louis airport. We always appreciate such great servide.

The car was clean and the service was good. When I went to pick up the car, the process was quick and efficient. The only problem was that the car's heating system wasn't working properly. I called and reported the issue, and I was told that I needed to leave the car running longer because of the low temperatures. I left the car running for more than an hour, even two hours, and the air still wouldn't heat up, even while driving. Today I used a different, smaller car, and that's when I realized that the first car had a defective heater all along, and my complaints weren't taken seriously.
