Gas & Diesel Doctor

During our roadtrip from California to Alaska and return in mid July, 2025, as we entered the Dalton Hwy our van went into "limp mode", forcing us to turn around and look for a Diesel mechanic in Fairbanks, Alaska. Our search lead us to Gas & Diesel Doctor. We arrived at their location first thing on a Monday morning and were met by friendly and very helpful staff. My husband explained the issue to the owner and he recognized the issue immediately. Although they were very busy he was very understanding of our situation and that we were traveling. He gave us an appointment for first thing Friday morning, and since the van was drivable we found a place to park and enjoy the outdoors. We returned early morning Friday and left the van. We had truck trouble while driving from the lower 48 to Alaska and limped into Fairbanks. The Diesel Doctor’s crew got us in first thing, diagnosed the problem fast, and had us back on the road the same day. Excellent service, fair prices—I highly recommend them!

Had them do some work on my truck while I was out of town. They did the work and held it in their lot for me until I returned, making it easily accessible for pickup. Definitely recommend.

Jamie and his crew are the very best. They've been servicing my old Ford diesel for years, many thousands of dollars of work. They've ALWAYS treated me fair and square and what they fix stays fixed. As long as they're in business, ill NEVER use another shop!

Loved the communication of this shop as well as the flexibility. We took my husband's truck in to get a few things worked on and they stayed in communication with both of us since he was working up north at the time. They ended up having to order a part for something my husband asked to be done and when it came in they quickly got us in to install it. The staff that I interacted with was incredibly friendly and we will probably be taking a lot of our business there since they are able to work on both diesel and gas vehicles (not to mention they're extremely convenient to where we work).
