I had extensive upgrades and repairs done to my truck at a shop in Springdale, WA. I stopped by that shop to have a couple of things done on my way to Arizona. We did a test drive and I was told I was good to go. After a few hours on the road, I started hearing a high, chirpy sound while going up hill. It would stop after a rest period and then start again when in high gear. After a while it didn’t stop. Luckily I pulled into a service station in Baker City, asked a young man to look under the hood for me, and after a few revs, he told me I had exhaust leaks coming from the turbo hoses. He directed me to Grumpy’s. They confirmed right away what the young man had seen and I was able to get an appointment the following Monday to have an inspection of the work that had been done on my truck.

Our truck was breaking down as we were on a trip pulling our trailer, we were right around Weatherby when our Check engine light started flashing then it went off so we continued, but then it went off again as we were climbing a hill so we slowed down and inched it to Baker City, the next morning Grumpy's was located just behind us so we got the truck over there at 0730, they didn't open until 8 but we saw someone come out of the office so we went in, they asked us the issue, we told them what happened, and we were instantly met with Hostility. We were told we wrecked our catalytic converters and it's going to be a very expensive fix, and that we should change our oil more often, which I stated it's changed every three months and our fluids are all up to date. Today we were headed to Portland/Vancouver, WA for a wedding and when we were driving through Baker City our engine light was flashing in our ford escape. I pulled over and googled mechanics in the area and GRUMPY’S (had excellent reviews) was the place that looked like the one for us! I gave them a call, expressed our situation to them and they explained to us that they had a long waiting list and that they were booked out a ways. The man, I think he was the owner, I talked to on the phone was very gracious and so so kind!!!! He told me if I brought my car in right then and there that they could do a diagnost

We had a really positive experience this past week. I committed the monumental error of filling our diesel with gasoline. When I limped it in to Grumpy’s, the mechanic was so kind and empathetic. My husband then worked with JR to get the situation diagnosed. Amazingly, they were able to get it fixed on the next business day, and the cost came in thousands less than the worst-case scenario we were anticipating. The entire experience was excellent, even in a bad situation. I certainly recommend these guys!!

Grumpys helped our trucking company Kris Johnson Trucking LLC. To get back on the road after a major radiator breakdown. The service our business received was excellent fast and affordable. We were quickly scheduled into the shop as soon as the parts arrived. They serviced our 2016 Volvo Tracktor Semi Truck. Grumpys was also able to complete advanced Volvo dealership applications and help us remove our speed governor at an affordable price. We were able to get in and out. Then back on the road within 5 days of a major breakdown. I definitely recommend this shop to truck drivers and owner operators who need skilled labor at a fast and affordable price. They also offer 24/7 roadside assistance.
