Hertz Car Rental - Pullman Moscow Regional Airport

My husband and I have consistently received great service from this Hertz location. We have rented vehicles from this location two times, in early August for WSU move-in and in late October for WSU Parent's Weekend. For both dates, we made our vehicle reservation early, knowing that the Pullman airport is small yet accommodates a large number of passengers coming to WSU. Both times, we worked with a kind and professional Asian woman who is either the sole Hertz counter employee or manager. I wish I could recall her name (I'm bad with remembering names), because she is very helpful. On one occasion, our arrival was close to midnight and we worried how we would obtain our vehicle keys. One star is far too high of rating for this place. I needed to swap vehicles due to a car problem. I had been in contact with roadside assistance for over a day, and they said I could go to this location to switch cars. While on the phone with roadside assistance, they contacted this Hertz and confirmed that they were open at the time I could get there (4pm), and that they had plenty of cars available. When I arrived at 4, there was nobody at the counter. I waited for a few minutes and then called the “for help” number listed on a scrap of paper (which seemed to be this person’s personal phone number). I explained that I was here to swap cars, to which the person on the line responded with “we’re closed”. I pointed out that the hours posted (literally next to the sign with their number) s

Absolutely horrific experience. I called to book a vehicle, I was quoted $80 and that I could pick up at 11am. When I called back 5 minutes later, the manager said that it would be substantially more expensive and that they wouldn't honor the price quoted to me less than 5 minutes before. She immediately told me to go online to book as she didn't want to deal with me. To be fair, I will say the girl that spoke to initially was very pleasant, kind and easy to talk to, she made the initial experience great. I will also say that calling back 5 minutes later, the manager was absolutely horrible to deal with. She immediately had an attitude and basically told me the price I was quoted wouldn't be honored. The Asian lady at the front should not be in a manager position at all costs. I went to the office and asked that I am going to rent a car on Aug 10th for 2 days ahead. She said the Nissan Altima sedan was available and I agreed. When I pick up the car it is unclean, unsanitaryized, and the exterior looks super gross. Here is the photo and very unprofessional to deal with this kind of people.

Made an advanced reservation. Corporate flight crew. No notes that the counter closes for lunch from Noon-2pm. There is a sign that says call for assistance, but the phone number isn’t even complete, as seen in the picture I’ve added. Had to get the number from the Avis counter. Then got a hold of an employees personal number, and was told she was on lunch and wouldn’t be back until 2pm. The manager of this location should be embarrassed and ashamed of the complete lack of customer service, especially on a homecoming Game day for WSU.
