I had a nail in my new tire Sept 2025. Porsche dealer, where I bought the tire, wanted to replace with a new one. Drove to Los Gatos Auto Repair instead. When I arrived, he stopped what he was doing and went to work. It happened so fast it was amazing. He was finished in 7 min flat. $35 later and I was on the road again. This is service we all can appreciate.

I don’t usually get emotional writing reviews, but this one matters. Places like this barely exist anymore. We were towing our R-Pod up the hills to Santa Cruz when we suddenly lost turbo boost and power. Stuck and unsure what to do, we turned back hoping to find someone—anyone—to help. That’s when we found El Gato Auto Care. Phoung and a tech with an OBDII scanner got us in right away, ran diagnostics, explained the issue clearly, and gave us the best advice possible: “Drive home, take the flattest route to Phoenix.” After an hour of troubleshooting, printing reports, and walking us through the situation, the total charge was: $0.00. Absolutely worst auto shop experience I've ever had. Brought my car in for front brake service and oil change. The mechanic that did the oil change stole the factory Toyota oil filter that I brought in for him to install. He installed a used oil filter and thought I would not notice. The factory Toyota oil filter is black. The one he installed was white. It looked old and used. When I drove my car back to the shop and confronted him about it he actually admitted to stealing it. The shop owner then told him to remove the one he installed and to put the Toyota oil filter that I brought to him. The guy started yelling and screaming like he was the victim. I love this place. The service is wonderful and I experienced their honesty and care. And that includes their pricing. They try to save you money instead of make more money.

Been my goto mechanic for the last 5 years. Even though now I moved to San Mateo I still come here. Very honest and fair. I know I am in very good hands. I don't have to think twice about the work or the quote.
