Nextcar

On a trip to Fairbanks, I placed a reservation for a vehicle through Booking.com. I was presented with three options from Nextcar. After making a selection and receiving a confirmation email, my flight was delayed, so I called the local customer service line in Fairbanks to let them know I'd be running late. Alaska 4x4 is the local company that handles the reservations for Nextcar, and I was informed they cancelled my reservation and that they wouldn't have any available vehicles until next month. Huge disconnect between Alaska 4x4 and Nextcar.

Booked my car rental through Amex travel. The vehicle was confirmed and still is to this moment. My flight was delayed by several hours getting me in close to 0100 and it’s -40. I called the counter to confirm that they would be open for me to pick up the rental. Only to find out they cancelled my reservation right after I made it because ‘the staff knows the inventory better than the computer’ and they over reserved. I still cannot find the email for the cancellation and it’s still active in my Amex travel portal as if I have the reservation. All the other car rental agencies are sold out. Horrible customer service. Do not recommend.

Charged for a vehicle they didn't have and trying to connect with someone has been impossible. Even the live chat closes if they don't answer quick enough - which was NEVER. I wish I could put negative stars it would be -1000!

Nextcar is an umbrella company for a local rental agency. Upon making my reservation online I immediately received an email from the local agency (Alaska 4x4) that no vehicles were available and they were cancelling my reservation. My card was still charged. Alaska 4x4 stated I had to reach out to the third party I rented from for a refund. I replied to the Nextcar email only to get it returned. I called the customer service number and was talked to like I was a child and was told it would take a few days for them to verify that the rental was indeed cancelled by Alaska 4x4 and process a refund. Lots of wasted vacation time trying to get my refund.

Made a reservation through a 3rd party online and was told at the desk that my reservation would not be honored. I have a confirmation from Nextcar that Alaska 4x4 (their local affiliate) is supposed to honor, but are refusing. I never received notice from the local company, Nextcar, or rentalcars.moc, but Alaska 4x4 claims Nextcar overbooked their inventory. Now I'm stuck at the airport with no car! Thankfully, I was not charged (yet).
