6-8 weeks ago I got a dreaded “check engine” light on my 2015 Ford F-150. A quick check with AutoZone’s computer said it was a misfire on cylinder 6 and likely needed an ignition coil or spark plug. I took it to my favorite mechanics at R&M and they swapped the #6 coil and plug to other cylinders to see where the problem moved. Sure enough….It started then showing up as a cylinder 5 misfire indicating the coil was bad. They replaced it. End of problem. Over this past weekend I got another chk engine light. This time it was a cylinder 5 error. I went back to AutoZone and the today to R&M and they immediately went outside in their parking lot and raised my hood enough to verify the “new” coil was in the #5 position. No questions. Took my car in to get my alternator and suspension checked and blown away by the customer service. They inspected my car thoroughly and gave me a very thorough explanation. Luckily the alternator was good and the battery terminals were the culprit. They also replaced my suspension for a reasonable price, and I couldn't be happier. I've been to a couple different auto repair places in town and this one takes the crown for sure. After taking on the oil pan repair myself, I messed up my oil filter cooler, which resulted in a small leak, and then a very large leak. I had to get it towed, and a friend of mine recommended R&M. I called them, and although they couldn't make it work at first, they called me back after rearranging their schedule and got me in. They worked on the car as soon as it got there, and was done by noon the next day. I had the part already coming my way, and it arrived earlier which really helped the process. R&M is an outstanding shop. Mike, Ryan, and team do great, honest work. The turnaround time is prompt. The pricing is very reasonable, too. They've helped us multiple times on our Honda's. If your car needs something, they will recommend it, but vice versa, if it isn't needed yet (like brakes), they will tell you. Mike is professional, yet so friendly and laid back.
